How Are Our Products Recycled?
At Abbey Windows, we know that our uPVC products are strong and durable. But inevitably, they will reach the end of their lifespan. This is where our recycling process comes in. All our uPVC products are manufactured by Liniar and created with sustainability in mind. Instead of sending products to the landfill, our uPVC windows and doors can be reused many times without losing their quality.
Once your uPVC product is no longer functional, it is sent to the recycling facility, where it is sorted by colour to help speed up the recycling process. Next, it is shredded into small pieces and transformed into granules or pellets. Finally, the granules are melted down and refined to be reintroduced into the manufacturing process so they can be reused in new uPVC products. In fact, uPVC windows can be recycled up to ten times. When you think about how uPVC windows have a lifespan of around 30 years, this could help them last up to 300 years!
